Position Summary:

Responsible for the daily execution of all culinary operations located at 535 5th Avenue. The majority of time will be spent working at a station on the line. The Prep Cook is also expected to develop the culinary team, manage costs and manage operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for reporting to work on time, in a clean uniform, and on scheduled days to perform required duties with proper tools.
  • Communicate to Supervisor regarding any problems or concerns. Posing problems should be reported at an appropriate time in order to rectify the problem in a timely fashion.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with RMD policies, procedures and standards.
  • Workstations must be maintained neat and clean by utilizing the proper handling and storage of misplace.
  • Produce the finest quality product with a positive attitude.
  • Responsible for the rotation of all food items that exists in station mis en place as well as in the kitchen.
  • Responsible for proper usage of equipment in compliance with RMD rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for communicating with co-workers on each shift of any problems or concerns.
  • Responsible for preparation of banquet foods in adequate amounts.
  • Attend pre-shift where sous chef conveys any relevant information.
  • Notify the Supervisor on duty before end of every work shift

Qualifications:

  • At least 0-1 years’ experience with extensive knowledge in restaurant and private parties  
  • Must be able to provide legible communication
  • Must be comfortable learning new skills

Skills and Attitudes:

Must be motivated, hard-working, and passionate. This position requires someone who is a strong leader with the ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities.

Must have the ability to:

  • Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
  • Prioritize and organize
  • Be a clear thinker, remain calm, and resolve problems using good judgment
  • Follow directions thoroughly
  • Work cohesively as a team with co-workers

Education:

Must have one or more of the following:

  • 1 years related experience and/or training.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
  • Food Handlers Card (must be obtained within 30 days of employment)
  • CPR and First Aid certified (must be obtained within 30 days of employment)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 6 hours at a time
  • Must be able to sit for up to 8 hours at a time
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds safely and properly
  • Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work holidays, nights, and weekend
